Speed Art Museum Listed by INC Ransom Ransomware Group

On September 22, 2025, the Speed Art Museum in Louisville, Kentucky, appeared on the leak site of the incransom ransomware group. Internal files were allegedly exfiltrated during a ransomware attack, and the museum now faces a public data exposure that could affect anyone whose information was stored in those systems.

What Public Reporting Shows

Public reporting indicates the Speed Art Museum, founded in 1927 and the largest art museum in Kentucky, was listed on the incransom leak site. The group claims to have taken internal files after deploying ransomware. No exact victim count has been released, and the precise volume or sensitivity of the stolen data remains unclear from available reporting. The museum welcomes roughly 180,000 visitors each year and maintains records on donors, members, employees, vendors, and ticketing systems that could contain names, addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, and payment details.

September 22, 2025 marks the date the museum was publicly listed. The attack follows the typical ransomware pattern of encryption followed by data exfiltration and extortion.

Why This Matters for You and Your Family

When a cultural institution like the Speed Art Museum suffers a breach, ordinary people are often the ones exposed. If you or your family have ever bought tickets, become members, attended events, donated, or worked there, your personal information may now sit in files controlled by criminals. A single leaked email, phone number, or address can serve as the starting point for identity theft, phishing campaigns, or unwanted contact.
