CISA ICS Advisory: lwIP TCP/IP Stack MQTT Client Application
Here’s what this advisory affects, and what to do about it.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow an attacker to gain full code execution on the device.
CISA has published an ICS advisory warning that a vulnerability in the lwIP TCP/IP Stack MQTT Client Application could allow an attacker to gain full code execution on affected devices.

Remote code execution via lwIP MQTT client
The advisory describes a flaw in the MQTT client implementation of the widely used lwIP open-source TCP/IP stack. Successful exploitation could allow an attacker to achieve full code execution on the targeted device.

Affected products
The vulnerability affects implementations of the lwIP TCP/IP Stack that include the MQTT client application. The advisory does not specify exact version numbers or list particular vendor products that embed the library. It applies to any industrial control system, operational technology, or medical device using a vulnerable build of the lwIP MQTT client.
What to do
- Determine whether any ICS, OT, or medical devices in your environment use the lwIP stack with its MQTT client enabled
- Review vendor documentation and firmware manifests for lwIP components
- Apply updates or patches supplied by the device vendor as they become available
- Implement network segmentation and restrict unauthenticated access to MQTT ports where feasible
- Monitor the vendor’s security channel and CISA’s ICS advisories for further updates on this issue
Organizations operating industrial control systems or connected medical devices should treat this as a high-priority review item because full code execution on such devices can have direct physical consequences.

These listings are live, public, and legal to remove — and removing them is what we do.

Each record is labeled: confirmed breach data, or an attacker’s claim no one has verified.
Leaked data cannot be deleted from the internet — anyone claiming otherwise is lying. Broker listings can be removed. We do the second, and show you exactly what to fix from the first.
